Hmmm, this might be interesting.

FWIW, I've seen a couple of postings of up around 250,000 miles or more in this thread, so you can bet that the SOHC 4.0 is capable of reaching that kind of mileage.

105 000 KM on the one in my truck, no real issues besides the timing chain was getting noisy for a little while, seems to have quietened down a little in the past month or two, or maby I just dont notice it over the new exhaust.

My girlfriend has an 01 Explorer Sport Trac and I just did the oil, plugs, tranny flush and other odds and ends. She has 180,500 on it. Did a compression test and leak down and all still good. Still doesn't burn a drop of oil. I am sold on the 4.0
My 2002 Ranger FX4, I just bought, only has 57,000 on it and I did all of the above and all is good with it. I hope mine lasts as long as hers has.
