This is the 2nd tank after I poured in this new Gumout fuel attitive. And well....I'm definately seeing improvements after the first tank that actually burnt the gumout.
This was almost all highway at 70 and over mph. Average speed that day was like 65mph i think?
Sp Shane - Did you find that by driving at 3k rpm its better then keeping it around 2200ish? I was figuring what gear I woudl run on my trip last time.. 4th was putting me at right around 3000k, and 5th was putting me at 2200.. the suck part was at 2200 I could barely hold speed going up a hill at 70mph.. had to be going a slight bit faster to do that, but local spee was 70 and idaho cops are asses
lol
lolSorry Matt....I did the math before choosing my gear ratio. I compared 4.10 to 4.56 to 4.88 to even 5.13 with variable in tire diameter...rpm at a given speed in overdrive or another gear, effective ratios, and things of similar nature. I can't find the formulas right now, but my truck is indeed reading 104% of the actual speed with the 34.8's and 4.88's. My effective ratio is overall lower than my truck was stock with it's 245/75R16(30.5) and 4.10's.
My speed showed on the Scangauge has been confirmed by two different GPS's and both of different brands. Also by those darn cop speed trailers on the side of the road. Oh...and a cop's radar gun as well. lol. I'm within a half a mile and hour from being 100% accurate to actual speed(On the scangauge).
In stock form with the 30.5's or the 31's, my speed limiter was about 92/93 mph. With 35's on my truck and still 4.10, I was hitting the limiter in 3rd gear not pulling many RPMS, yet was traveling at 100 or 105...my effective ratio dropped because of the larger than stock tires(speedo reading slower than actual traveling speed). I had the Scangauge setup for +10% I believe(because that was the distance in tire diameter after the calculations).
