Doug turned it off on my x-cal. Haven't tested it actually.. but the settings it lets you adjust, go from 65mph up to 125mph and then "off" is the last / highest.

Rich,

One thing to be careful of - the 5 speed automatic OD tranny has a possibility of ballooning the torque converter over a period of time if you run the max shift pressure with the programmer and run it for strictly high performance.
I have not built any automatics in many years (my last was an AXOD years ago) but I have a trusted Ford transmission guru here in town who talked me out of maxing my pressure settings out - he runs a respected rebuild/performance shop.

oops, meant to continue my reply to the speed limiter removal - the X Cal II programmer will certainly do that. Mine too would do 92-93 m.p.h. and stay there - really frustrating when it just shifts out of 2nd gear into 3rd gear at that speed, and we still have 4th, 5th and overdrive left to go.
I have made several performance (and mileage too) mods to mine thanks to this site and the information shared here. I went with the programmer first, then added an e-fan, and a 25% underdrive pulley.
I have an '01 Edge extended cab, 4.0 SOHC, 5 spd OD automatic, 3.55 locking rear axle. I replaced the factory Bilstein shocks when they wore out with Gabriel Pro Ryder shocks, and run Michelin Select LT tires because I love the cornering and longevity.
One of these days I will figure out how to mount a camera to record the speedometer, tachometer and windshield view all in one and show how fast it will jump up to 130....I still have more rpms and pedal left but I have 88,000 miles on it now, so I show mercy on her and back off.

Thanks for the input guys. I've been messing and messing with the settings. I've found that when it comes to tranny settings, idle settings, shift points, and firmness seem to only work for 1 or maybe 2 accelerations. AND.. it will only work at the lowest settings. After that or at "max" settings it feels bone stock no matter what. Timing is noticable though.

He has'nt returned my calls or e-mails in 5 days now. Actually I've never even spoke to him. The one and only time I spoke to someone from bamachips was "Matt". Not sure who that was?

I got all the patience in the world for a small business guy. But non-communication makes me agitated.

All you guys say the same thing though about him being a quality guy. So I'll trust ya and just wait.

Thanks for the input!

Most of the time I drive like your grandpa.. Only a few times a year will I go to the track with the ranger. I'm hoping to get 150K+ miles out of this truck.
