Just installed my Underdrive Pulley on my 2008 4.0

Pain in the assssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!! wasnt too hard pulling the fan and shroud out since we had that fan pulling tool, but getting the old pulley off was the worst because we didnt have the right bolts for the puller and wouldnt work properly. So we got it almost all the way off and used crowbars braced on the sway bar to pop it off.

Once the old pulley was off, the new one was easy to throw on.

The truck pulls harder now, you can really feel the difference under hard acceleration, just got to regear not to 4.56s for my 33's and shes going to be even faster!

All and all, pain in the *** about 3 or 4 hours work to get this new pulley in all said and done. Labour was free as i do electrical work for the shop i get my truck work done at.

Not sure if im fully satisfied with the results but they are noticable, no idea how much the gain was though. And i will update evryone on my gas status on the next tank!

Good to hear you got it on there alright... looking forward to the mileage results. Did you find it locally or elsewhere?

Did you install the crank pulley only or all 3? I've read some good reviews on pulleys. Someone on this board upped the idle 200 rpms via programmer to offset the lights going dim, have you had any changes in your idle? Probably my next mod too....I look forward to your results.

Did you keep a good record for mileage before the install to compare to?

I'm getting a weird rattle from my engine and im thinking its one of the pulleys. i think its the crank pulley to be exact. So i've been looking into this mod im also think about converting to an electric fan while im at this just to maximize gains.

Did your pulley come with longer bolts to use with your puller? I think most puller kits come with a standard 80mm setup, but I think I heard you need at least 100mm, and I thought a pair came with the pulley. I have heard some people say that they didn't work...and others say they did.

Any specific info would be great....
