Recently read a post about the availability for the 4.0L OHC and I previously installed one on a '00 3.0L. There was a noticable difference in throttle response and mpg.
Does anyone make an underdrive pulley set up for the 4.0L OHV ???

i thought they were talkin about the OHV engine too..

it was the SOHC......it appears that our engines are a thing of the past

and the only reason the pully for the SOHC is out is 'cuz the new mustangs use those engines, along with the rangers...so yah....

The pulley coming out for the 4.0 SOHC WILL fit the 4.0 ohv. Should be sometime in November when they are available.

With a small system, you should have no problem whatsoever with the underdrive pulley. I had a pulley on my 3.0L with a sub and had no problem. But get into bigger systems and you will run into problems.

 

Have an email in to Under Dog Performance to find out IF they have an underdrive pulley for the 4.0L OHV or IF the new pulley for the 4.0L SOHC will fit the OHV.

Enclosed is the response I received from UnderDog Performance.

It will fit the OHV 4.0 along with the 4.0 SOHC. You are in good shape. They are supposed to be ready sometime in November.
