lookin for performance

im wanting more from my truck. ive done exhaust and dont want to go cold air. from wut ive seen, chips are too expensive for wut they do. i know the power the give you is alot. if you want to sway me go ahead and try. id prolly go bamachip or tuner route. i dont mind doing anything to the engine if need be as long as its nothing too complicated or cant be done with a torque or impact wrench and basic tools. anybody wanna help me out here with somethin i could do? thanks.

as far as bang for the buck i think youll be suprised with a chip from doug. any other mods would be custom head work and custom short block mods. by custom i mean $$$$. and not just $$, i do mean $$$$. if you want you can ask D., he did some research on it a while back. if you dont want to do the intake then definately go for the chip, i dont think you will be disappointed

A good chip or tuner will give you more than anything else for the amount they cost. The tuner is also extremely easy to install. No tools required. From what you said in your post the only choice you have given yourself is a tuner.

Contact Bama, you will get the best performance and service available in a chip or tuner for a Ranger.

so no reason to look into headers, plenums, throttle bodies, MAF, filter conversions, etc.?

you get a good set of heads with work done to them and you'll be AMAZED how much more the 4.0 can breathe. I rode in a buddy of mines truck that had some ported heads in a 4.0 and let me tell ya, it pulled HARD
