I have a 04 FX4 Level 2 5 speed that will not crank at all. When I go to turn the key on to crank it I get a buzzing sound from the fuel pump relay under the hood. No lights come on the dash and the radio will not come on. When I hit my brake my dome light shuts off even if the key is not in the truck. My key fob will not light up any of the lights like it usually does. I have no lights and no cranking. Every thing works when the key is turned to acc. I have checked all the fuzes that I can visually. I have tried to switch out the fuel pump relay with another of the same size. Problem is the same. If I pull the relay and turn the key on the fuel pump makes a clicking noise. Please help.

 

Battery? Might not be strong enough to crank the starter over, but enough to power your ACC.

 

Try your fuel shut of switch, should be on the passanger side kick panel by the fuses. Might have triped it off, they can be funny sometimes. Should be just a red button you push and release.

 

I just happened tonight. I pulled the battery cables to check all the fuzes. They are clean and I tried the fuel shut off switch too. No change. I will charge the battery tomorrow and see what that does. I am just concerned with the fuel pump relay buzzing and none of the lights working, that it is gonna be a relay of computer related problem. Thanks

 

The fuel pump rely is supposed to click and buzz.

I just had this problem with my brothers 98 F-150. Its either the battery, alternator, or battery cables.

Since you checked your fuses, double check them again. My guess is its the alternator.

 

this happed to me with my 97 turned out to be i had a bad connector at the battery check the cables and make sure thay are tight, mine the nut pulled though the led and wouldn't tighten good enough.

 

Thanks everyone. It was my battery. Had it tested and it had a dead cell. Put in a new one and no problems.
