Make It Sound Mean

What can you add to a 4.0 to make it sounds as bad *** as possible? I'm already doing the dual Borla's.

the borlas are a pretty conservative muffler, it wont be very loud at all but it will have a nice tone to it.

Well you are on the right track, but its a v-6 i doubt you are going to make it sound "badass"...There are alot of guys on here who have hopped-up their 4.0's and they dont sound much different than a stock 4.0. Maybe one of them will chime in to give you a better idea...

If you want it to have a good loud sound to it I would suggest getting a FlowMaster muffler on there. I have a FlowMaster Dual Exhaust set up on my truck and it sounds good(for a V6) and it is loud enough to set off a few car alarms and wake people up when they are inside sleeping.

bad*** would involve a lopey cam. I heard a 3.0 Ranger in Houston that I swore had a v8 in it. The muffler helps, but the meanness is in the lope.

My current truck sounds badass and I have the exhaust split after the cats into two flowmaster series 40 mufflers and three inch cannon type tips. My last truck had almost the same setup and didn't sound nearly as good. I realy have no explanation for how my exhaust sounds. It sounds like a mopar V8, and I have no Idea why.

How are you guys getting such good tone out of your trucks. I had a Flowmaster 40 series put on and there was very minimal sound improvment. I heard that there is too many CATS that restrict the air flow. What are you guys doing. Right know I have Duels coming right out of my CATS.

HELP!!!

Gatorblue92 has a flowmaster with dual exhaust and his sounds really good. Stainless steel pipes also make a hell of a difference over carbon steel pipes.

What do you mean? Sound difference?

My Borla sound awesome at WOT, or when i put it in 1st gear and drive around slow, let the RPM's collect, and hit the gas (lightly to 3,000), man does that sound badass (similiar v-8 sound, that defenitly turns heads)...But normall driving, its not bad. Can get kinda of annoying, but not too bad.

the only other exhaust I would ever even consider putting on my truck is a Borla. I thought about a Gibson but went with Flowmaster. I've heard Borla's on the 4.0 and they sound pretty awesome.

thanks man and umm fletch12518 yes when you add bigger tips the exhaust is just a little louder depending on how big of a tip you put on over the exhaust, don;t get ones like no bigger then like 3 and 1/4 inches otherwise it won't look good depending on what size exhaust you got on, it'll be like putting low pro tires on a monster truck, it won't look rite lol
