Max Speed of your Ranger.

I wanted to know the highest speed that you guys have hit while in your Rangers. I know that mine has a Governor so I max out at 93 MPH. Anybody have their Governor disabled and go faster?

Most tuners are able to remove the speed limiters... but they're there for a reason!

Don't worry about going faster, you don't need to

It's not that, a Ranger is not an ideal vehicle to be driving that fast.

I've done it before, I'll admit, but it wasn't smart.

I don't want to remove mine, I like that mine only goes to 93MPH. I was just wanted to know how fast the 4.0 SOHC V6 can go. I usually drive between 80MPH and 85MPH (on the interstate) and only hit 90MPH to pass.

I'm not sure anyone has done a real speed test without the governor.

There are a lot of variables between different trucks that influence speed

I don't know if I would trust a ranger that fast. Or brag that I go 20 MPH over the speed limit on the internet. But thats me.

I drive slow... Highest mines been was 80. and that was only a few times. I prefer 55, i like mpgs and speed isnt my thing. Now acceleration, thats the bees knees.

Mud tires are the best governor. No way in hell would I drive much over 75mph on them.

Don't tell Pedro.

Its rare the truck hits 80. Modern limiters are set to 110 mph. older ones can be anywhere from 90-120. I know that there has been Dyno's done of Rangers, but tbh its different for every truck, depending on tires, conditions, etc.

I have never had any handling issues while going above 80. I have stock tires and height, there is no shaking at all.

I only go fast when there is no one else on the road, I don't see a reason to go 70 when I'm the only person on the highway, so I will usually get up to 80 and sit on that. The FHP (Florida Highway Patrol) haven't stop me yet and I see them all the time. My buddy is a Sheriff and he told me most of them will not get you unless you are driving recklessly or if going above 90 if you are alone.

Not when your truck revs 3.5k going 70. Yeah you do get worse mileage if you gun it everywhere but for me its mostly highway speeds.

In my 06 the limiter was set to 83mph from the factory! I could not stand it on the freeway so I had a tuner remove my speed limiter. My truck is easily capable of speeds over 100mph with no issues, but its lowered and larger sway bars, wider wheels and grippy tires. Ill hit a full loop on-ramp at 80mph with no issues and it sure is fun!

FWIW, I have the 3.0 5spd.
