misfire..... again
well it was the egr before and its been disconnected lately just so it would run right. well when i went to crank my truck today it wouldnt run right at all and mis fired worse than it used to. i had no choice but to hook the egj back up, that truck jerks so bad going down the road i couldnt stand it. i scanned my codes and it showed my egr was diconnected (duh) but it also said misfire on cylinder number 4. so im guessing ill but a new egr and get plugs and wires. idk what else i can do.
Loose the K&N intake, and throttle body spacer. Then clean your MAF sensor, and connect the EGR back up. Then disconnect the negative battery cable, and touch it to the positive battery cable for a few seconds. This will reset the PCM. You may still have an EGR problem, but it might be coming from the DPFE sensor.
i had the missfire code on cylender 4 a wile back it truck ran like crap when cold would go through plugs like crazy. the 98 to 00 4.0s are bad to get a crack in the coolent port in next to the number 4 cylender mine was a head gasket check your coolent mine would use a half a gallen are so in a week also could be a head
i plan on plugs and wires even though it hasnt been too long

theirs the problem! you will have to take the heads off and get them checked at a machine shop have them flow tested mine was the drivers side head. i done all the work my self but still had to shell out 400.00 for repairs
holy ****. i cant afford that but i gotta have that truck running right. just my luck. awsome........
yeah thats what i said but she runs great now no more faul plugs and no more antifreese use. dude if your lived closer to me i could help you fix it its not that bad the only thing thats a pain its going to be the mainfolds
well when it gets back from being painted is there anything i can check to make sure thats the problem? or is that pretty much all it could be?
i did some tests on mine like a compreson test all was good i didnt really find any thing till i tore into it and had me head checked and the guy said it was cracked mine coudent be fixed had to get a new head.
4.0 OHV's are famous for misfires on #4. It might possibly be a head or head gasket problem but there is a much more common cause. Often, a leak in the gasket between the intake manifold and the head will allow coolant to be sucked into #4 intake runner and cause the misfire and coolant loss.
