I recognize the name Joe Scisson, I went to high school (Sandwich) with someone with the same name. I was racing out on 3B back in the late 80's in my red Mustang GT. When we needed some privacy we went to the Windsor Salt mines. My best street racing was in Michigan on Gratiot Avenue...3 lanes wide and we raced all night with no hassels, then off the Mexican Village, gased up and back to Windsor. Those were fun times. These days the Cops steal your ride if they catch you, or harass you if they suspect your racing. I've driven to Cayuga and been tailed by Cops all the way to the track. Then the Cops wait for people leaving the track and follow them to the hwy...talk about police harassment, those guys are unreal.

I'll do a few mods to my truck and take it to the track (hopefully Sparta) and post my results.

 

HI!... Ya we raced at 3B, Morton RD (Salt mine), Morton Terminal, Devon RD behind the mall, Twin Oaks, and Little base line. We still do it today but in much smaller exclusive groups with tons of look-outs, two ways and police scanners. lol!

 

wow you two, i kno all the places you've mentioned. now i guess the place to do it is out near essex aluminum and nemak. i wanna say essex way. 2 years ago there was lots of black marks and i was told it's legit since it's a private road. people would meet up on saturday or sunday and race. i could be wrong tho.

HI!... That was us. The group I belong to called RTP (Real Time Performance) was shooting a movie. We got permission from Ford's to use their private rd for the movie. We had to get a ton of permits and get insurance to allow us to do it. We had everything from 8 second full out race cars to 15 second daily drivers. We closed the road, sprayed down VHT and had everything measured off for 1/4 mile and 1/8 mile racing. It was a ton of fun. Were trying to get another one going soon at the airport.

 

i hope you guys get it done. francis and his circus don't realize that there is a demand for it in this area and "if you build it, they will come". not to turn this into a political thread on windsor, but this city has so much potential to be something big and yet no one has the guts to make it happen.
