Need Help Troubleshooting..

Well, took the truck to the mechanics on base today.. They did a 'die' test to see if there was any O2 in the coolant.. They say this is a pretty sure way to tell if you have a bad head gasket.. Well, the test came back negative, no O2 in the coolant, which means no head gasket leak..

so.. WHAT COULD BE CAUSING MY TRUCK TO RUN LIKE ****!!!??

starts up rough, smells like fuel.. exhaust sounds like shat... no power.. And when there is a CEL, its always misfire in #4... any ideas?

changed plugs, wires and coil pack.. All motorcraft.. plugs are platinums..

yes, well, not 100% sure.. my mechanic off base that did the compression test and what not said he could see there was something wrong just by looking at the plug.. so im guessing yes. .

but heres the wiered thing.. I installed the new coil pack, start it up the truck runs AWSOME.. for the most part, still a little lacking on power, but the exhaust sounds a million times better, no rough start up, runs really good.. The next morning.. Starts up rough again.. i dont get it..
