new exhaust system

hi, i own a 4.0 sohc 04 manual

i just got a 40 series flowmasted dual out on my truck and it seems like after a week it lost its rumble. i loved that low rumble!!!! i took off the silencer and all on the airbox and i didn't really pay attention but i think thats where i lost the low rumble. now all i get is ghey poo exhaust sound. is it that the exhaust finally broke in a little and when i get an intake in what difference in sound will i get??

How is the exhaust desighned..

It wore in and it lost its "newness" .
An intake will help the rumble though, i never could tell on mine, cause i had it all in at once.

The inside of the system gets coated with carbon from the exhaust, and it acts as a sound absorber. That's why exhausts "mellow" over time. Some people like that, some don't. Flows and Gibsons do that, but my old Dynomax never did. That sucker was noisey until the day I sold the car. Must be something in their design.

adding to the itnake thing it seems that there is only a few options on intakes. The k&n http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

and this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
which is suppose to be for a 4 banger but looks close and workable, plus i like the concept

or i could make one.....anyone stumbled upon anything else on intakes for an 04 4.0 v6

go to www.ssd4u.com , VERY good site, great prices. They shipped to Alaska for $10 for me. I really liked it, although I wish air filter was bigger. I can always buy a bigger filter when i replace it too though.

I've had my Dynomax Ultra Flo oval & complete system for 4 days now, and she's sounding MEANER. It's strait through and sounds awesome. Not too loud, but for me, not loud enough. I may do a flowmaster Super 40 someday down the road...but ill see how my $69.88-$50 rebate(19.88 after rebate)muffler will do though more drivin around.
