okay, so I bought a new IAC valve, and put it in and 2 times I have heard it whine for a little bit, then it stops..what could cause that to make that noise, if it's brand new?? Do I have to tighten it really tight???

also, the idle is still ****ed up. ive done the fuel filter, and sparks.. would the plug wires cause it to idle weird too?

 

Don't know about the whine. Have you checked the MAF sensor, mine wouldn't idle right and that was my problem.

 

well I took it in last friday, and they cleaned the MAF sensor.. it was dying on me when it was really cold out, and they said it was the intake air temperature sensor, I replaced it, which the old one didnt look bad. It hasn't idled out on me since, but the rough idle is still there.. I think I will just break down and change the plug wires..dont know if that will help??

 

Seems like if it were plug wires it would run rough all the time not just at idle.

 

lol oops maybe i should rephrase that, ya like when I am at a stop light, it is jerking..if thats different then just idle..ya so its always doing a little jerk..ever few seconds. in park, and drive.
