found what looks to be either the front cover or oil pan gasket leaking on the front of the ranger. ill snug the bolts up (if i can) and pressure wash it. anyone else has this problem...

 

ya. but its still leaking. its not bad enough to fix. we have a 2 piece oil pan btw.very easy to get to with a sfa

 

Bump, noticed a quite a few of our explorders at work with the 4.0s leak in the same area. BTW, still never fixed it either.

 

Yeah i just came on here to start this post, and WoW, its right here. Mine front oil pan is leaking for sure, tightened all the bolts, and it didnt help. Im going to replace the gasket when Im due for the next oil change. I check the levels often, it is not leaking at a alarming rate....This must be a trouble spot for these Rangers mine is a 2004 4.0

 

well 4.0's ohv's have a tendency to leak oil thats for sure but i didnt know about this lil sohc ordeal ill have to keep an eye on mine.

 

^yea there is a TSB out for the oil leak on the 4.0 SOHC
