i love my 4.0 SOHC

i figured since this forum hasn't been too active i'd make a post

have put around 25k on it so far with NO problems. i got it in like February maybe i don't remember. the brake pads had worn completely down and the metal wore the rotors about 3/4 of way down.

i don't know why he kept driving it? someone had messed with the adjusters in the drums and the shoes were gone pretty much. i just put new front pads on it and left it at that.

rigged a hose clamp so i could manually adjust my rear brakes. only one side. at this point i was really broke or i would have gotten rotors and all that.

switched to mobil 1 synthetic and it seemed to make a big difference mileage wise and it ran better too i think?

put new plugs, cleaned the MAF and fixes that elbow that always leaks.
i cut the stock muffler off and welded a cherry bomb in its place. lol its actually not loud at all and sounds pretty nice.

now my tie rods are shot, and upper ball joints? tires worn really bad, i'm going to throw it up on the lift at work some time soon and do the front end with the best parts moog i think? haven't researched yet.

the trans shifts nice still.i beat on it quite a bit i would say, needs a trans flush i bet it has never been serviced.
i took it out on the beach very much this summer and it did great
in the sand, also beat on it in the woods. hence the front end problems. sunk it in numerous puddles. just drained a bit of water out of the transfer case the other day. nice fresh fluid now lol

it has also been hit on the front end. happened before i got it so idk what it was. need a header panel, light and grill maybe

i hauled a huge diesel engine a few thousand miles with no problem . riding on the bump stops. this was a BIG engine lol

still runs great can get around 22-24 mpg depending on how i drive, usually get like 18

Next year sometime I have to spend about 4K$ on an aftermarket hull that can do backflips. Probably the "B.O.B." hull

but all alternators are easy. they suck to get at on fwd cars and on diesels when there is more than one but they are still easy
