ranger eats the s10

my friend has a 2002 4.3 4x4 zx2 s10 ext cab,with flowmaster series 40 exhaust.aem coldair intake,throttle body spacer,with a 5 speed manual,also the truck only 80,000 miles on it,vs my ranger 4.0 4x4 ext cab with flowmaster 50 series exhaust,throttle body spacer,and a coldair intake,with 160,000, at first i did not want to race him, but im like what the hell,lets do it,so we both lined up. and i blew him away 5 times in a row we raced,i did not know my ranger still had it in her ,with 160,000 she is still strong, so my friend does not give me anymore crap that the s10 is better than the ranger,because we all know the truth here,{and yes we were in a controled area with no body around so nobody would get hurt}

Ive showed up a few S10s and other small trucks. They are fun but I prefer Silverados and bigger trucks.

Wow never? They usually dont throw much of a fight. They seem to be slow to rev and hard off the line. I test drove an extreme and the truck I have now and the extreme felt like it was sitting still compared to how my truck pulls. However, I have seen a few tricked out S10s but stock for stock I havent been beatin by any.

well I got a good buddy at school he has a 98 2,2 5-speed one day we ran back when I was 16 lol we were practically close together from start, I let him shift 1st we staid side by side until it was a 2 lane, he ran out of road so I let him on by....saw him other day he was suprised at my truck, b/c the new paint and exhaust... so I dont hate on S-10s I use to want one

What do you guys run in the eighth mile drag and a quarter mile drag in your rangers? Tell me your engine and mods. I own a ranger now that is a 4.0 with flowmaster but i used to own a 1997 extended cab 2wd s-10 lowered to the ground that would run 10.30 seconds in the eight mile and it was stock. Never ran the quarter mile.

My 2.3 has no problem at accelerating from a start its just when it hits 50 55 it doesnt do so great. ive raced my friends old dodge 360 and we are even 3 to 3. but the dodge has since died. but i found a harley davidson f 250 powerstroke will kick my trucks @$$.

On the eighth mile track, my old 3.0l stick single cab, with MAF mod and catback would run just behind a likewise modded 4.3l. Basically my front bumper would be on his rear.
