Engine and tuner hep needed.
1. I'm going to do a complete re-build on the 4.0 short block with high volume oil pump, and considering a 4.3L stroker kit from Tom Morano. I want a performance increase, but still keep reliability.
Any thoughts on longevity... good or bad?
2. Also considering a new set of ported heads and stock rockers. Any thoughts on Tom's stage 2 or stage 3 heads or someone else’s heads? Who's Bird?
3. Leaning towards Comp Cams 410 as the truck does a small amount of lightweight towing and mountain driving. Do I need to degree the cam?
4. Anyone know where I can buy a New harmonic damper bolt? Is it TTY, or is it reusable?
5. I'm planning on running cat forward stainless shorty headers from JBA (EGR delete). Does the front exhaust cats and pipes need to be swapped over or will the 4.0 OHV connect to the stock 3.0 exhaust? Eventually I want to go cat less, but I have to get there first.
6. What's the best fuel tuner and programs that will work with my setup?
7. I'm also looking into getting a lightened (16.5 Lbs.) flywheel for quicker acceleration. Has anyone run one of these in their DD?
8. Best lifter brand and places to get them?
9. Anyone know where I can buy a New cam thrust plate for the 1998 4.0 OHV?
