rev limiter

correct me if im wrong but nowadays theres not an actual 'rev limiter' that you can hold in your hand right? i would assume thats all programmed now but anyways, in nuetral i can only rev upto abot 3000. not a huge deal but bugs me. would i have to get this done for me at like a performance shop?alsoooo...this might be related to the problem but at 90mph exactally it bogs out, wont go any faster. ........not that i need to be going that fast........ lol but im just saying.

these two issues relatd? and can i fix it? fanks

A programmer will get rid of that. It's there to protect your tranny when smart people try to rev it to 6 grand and throw it into drive.

90MPH is the speed governor. The programmer will also get rid of that.

To remove it get the XCAL - 2 programmer removes rev limits and speed limits.

Yes, they are. Computer controlled rev limiter, as well as speed governor.

A shop may be able to take them off, but for sure X-Cal II's can take them off.

You guys are on this like flies on poop, lol.

When you order the x-cal tell them what you want to set it at. If I'm not mistaken the canned SCT limit is 4100 max in Neutral.

I've got mine set at 5000 and it'll rap nicely now.

Also, the speed limiter on the newer models *I think* drops ignition per cylinder. The more the speed the more cylinders get dropped.

Got mine turned off. Doesn't matter to me though cause the fastest I go is mid 90s through the traps.
