rev limiter

so your saying revving up to 4-5k is ok in drive but not in neutral?? why so? jw

Free revving an engine change the centrifugal loads on the drive line much faster than winding it up in gear, and the rapid load changes are rough on the bearings and rods.

Just put your foot on the brake pedal and the other to the floor on the gas -- and spin the tires through the gears....let us know what MPH you hit

I have a tuner and you can only change the rev limiter up to 3900 rpms so find another excuse.

yea thats what mine does. the max it will let me change to is 3900. oh well lol

Reason for adjusting the rev limiter

I am installing a motor 2002 2.3L that has a computer and bcm from an automatic transmission and I am putting that motor into a truck that has a manual transmission. Will I need to figure out how to get rid of the rev limiter from the computer or will the standard transmission trucks wiring harness deal with that… I doubt it.. has anyone done this kind of job before?
