Scewed up oil filter
Scewed up oil filter
i have been changing my own oil on all my vehicles for the past 20 years,
never had a problem very easy to do ,but today was different, when i
removed the old oil filter never noticed till later that the rubber gasket
had separated and was still stuck on the block so when i put the new filter on i had
two rubber gaskets on the filter, when i started my 4 liter Ranger there was
oil all over the garage floor ,i always put a light film of oil on the rubber
gasket. this is the first time this has happened ,it was a Ford dealer filter.
when i inspected the old filter it had no gasket. wtf.

I use the Orange Fram ones with grip on the bottom. and I just changed it maybe 500 km's ago. But there's a light film of oil on the bottom of the filter??? wtf its tight and oiled the seal and put some oil in the filter first
Eh. Stuff happens. I have had an oil filter cover seal stick to the cover on my Raptor. I caught it when I was trying to fit the cover over the filter since it didn't fit like normal. We are only human.
i know i screwed up i should of checked the old filter first to see if it had a
gasket now i know for next time ,the leak from the oil filter must of had a
lot of pressure ,on the same side as the filter radiator got sprayed and some
got on the belt ,hard to imagine the oil sprayed from oil filter to side of radiator,or could it be the fan must of helped it spray that far a mystery to me,
