Serious problem with truck this afternoon

On my way back from home depot truck started to get hot had to pull over 3 times to let it cool just to get close to home. Once I finally shut it off, popped the hood to find the overflow tank filled with coolant and I can hear it bubbling. This is the worst my cooling probelm has gotten now its sitting down the street from my house in the rain. I now must figure out what to replace. My first thoughts are the coolant is discusting looking (I've only had the truck 2 weeks) mabye its needs changing, other thoughts are either thermostat, or water pump. Any help, there is no mudd or anything clogging the radiator.

ya maybe check and see if that water pump is working before you fill it back up with coolant. i would think you could check the condition of it without removing it. maybe not.

how many miles does your truck have on it?

I would do a backflush on it also, could be clogging up somewhere, it's only about 5$ for the kit to do it.
