Should I replace my injectors

I am in the middle of replacing my upper intake gaskets on my ohv '97 Ranger. (Thank You CAW & Rockledge for your awesome how-to's). So far, everything has gone pretty well. I have everything apart, and old gasket cleaned off. My problem is that when I removed the fuel rail, a couple injectors came off with it. When I was putting a new o-ring on one of them, the plastic "diffuser"?? kinda crumbled apart. It was like it was brittle. I bought a new injector, but now am wondering if I should replace all of them. Any thoughts. I gave $40. for injector that I replaced.

Consider having the injectors professionally blueprinted and cleaned. It'll bring them back to new. See:

How much does this service cost? I'm guessing less than replacement. Dealer wanted $99.00 each. Ouch! As I mentioned before, I got a rebuilt one for $40.
nm, some Googling reveals ~$17. -$25. per injector.

After searching on the 'net, I believe the part of the injector that broke is called a pintle cap. I also found a listing on Ebay that may be what I needed (instead of replacing injector).

I don't know how much time you have. If you have a couple of weeks, Fred offers cleaned and balanced injectors. It's hit or miss based on his inventory on hand:

Yeah, it is $25 if you DON'T have a core and $20 each (no shipping) if you send me your injectors to be donw. I use stock on hand to get the best set available.

Just wanted to update my post. I put everything back together, and it's running great. The intake plenum was probably the biggest culprit. The rubber was hard as a rock, and shrunken down. I'm not sure if the paper gasket was leaking, but it may have been. It appeared to be the original. I had done quite alot of work to my truck before gettin' her right. Some things I probably wasted my money on (MAF sensor), but others needed to be done (IAC was definately bad). I bought truck used, and it had always had idle issues until now. My biggest recommendation to anyone needing to replace intake gaskets would be to clean engine first. I had heck of a time keeping dirt and crap from going into intake throught injector holes.
