Spark plug gap question

I have a 2001 ford ranger edge v6 4.0L
The sticker under my hood says the correct spark plug gap is 0.062-0.068, but when I took out the old Motorcraft spark plugs and looked up the model number, it said they were pre-gapped at 0.054 and didn’t appear to have an altered gap. They are now worn down to about 0.070. Should I follow the sticker or put in the same as what the previous spark plugs were?

Welcome to the forum

No, never trust the sticker in the engine bay, lol, they are usually wrong

0.054 is correct for the 4.0l SOHC 2001-2011
