Speed Governer Question
Speed Governer Question
On my 2001 Edge, my limiter was set at 92 MPH.
Now, on my 2005 I can go alot faster than that. I hit 100, and backed off. What is the governed speed of my truck???
Yes, I have stock tires...

I assure you, I was doing 100, with stock tires.
I wonder if something isn't set up right. Like the ECM has the wrong gears or tire size...it didn't really "feel" like 100...but that's what the speedo showed...

I wasn't sure what that acronym ment, thanx for clearing that up Ean!
AFAIK means "as far as I know"... Now I feel stupid. I call myself internet literate, and that just eluded me...
ANYWAY...why does my truck show 100+ on the speedo?

Yeah well, I don't know anybody with GPS locally, and nobody will drive 100 near me. Looks like I need to find a cop somewhere....
He's an answer I got over at RPS...do you think this is possible as well??

see, he's not asking about going faster than 92 just about the limiter and if he can
why do you have to start
I guess if it is truely in the programing it is possible - wrong tire size or ratio entered
to check your speedo how about riding next to someone else you are in communication with at that speed?
when the LIL BLUE speed limiter kicks in you know it for sure and like I said even downhill with a tail wind

hmm... cuz ive hit 100 as well and thats the point i felt it start to give me resistance so i bet that by the tiem you get to 100, if you speedo is off by like 1/4 mph, itll add up to about 8-9 mph....

Maybe you have 3.73 gears instead of 4.10's
I'd check the axle code and your door jam and make sure they match. If they do, its possible..
1.) your speedo is off
2.) your governed at 100
3.) theres a squirrl/gremlin on one of those wheel things helping you along
