when truck starts up it squeeks like hell. then after its warmed up it stops. wat could this be? its driving me crazy! that sound is so annoying! HELP ME PLEASE!

 

Serpentine belt
Idler pulley
Tensioner pulley.

Replace all three and you'll be good (for a while).

It's a common problem on Rangers.

Use the 'search' button.You'll be surprised at the amount of posts for squealing belt,squeeking noise,belt tensioner,belt noise,ect.

 

I would start with the belt-had the same problem-put on new belt and problem solved, if that doesnt work then start checking pullies

 

The belt is glazed. But.. the reason it's glazed is what's important. Check for a worn out bearing and a idler that's got at least 10ftlbs TQ on it.

i would start with taking the belt off and spinning all the pulleys that you can spin, see if any of them squeak, if not then go get a new belt, that should run you between $25 and $45 depending on the brand

the tensioner pulley when i got mine was like $7 i think, dont let them sell you the whole tensioner assembly lol
