Starter problems

I posted this in another section but hope to get some fast feedback before monday. I have a 1996 4x4 V6 4.0 and has 211,000 miles. It started having problems about 3 months ago. it's starts fine in the morning but if I stop anywhere for more than 5 min it won't start again. It only cranks at first then it tries to start but only for like 2 seconds. I've taken it to 3 different places and they can't tell me what it is. Ive been told it's the fuel pump but I've had it replaced 3 times in the last 4 years. Sometimes I think it is the fuel pump because it once shut off on the highway. When I finally manage to turn it on it revs super high, almost like I got 1/2 of the gas pedal down. Also as I'm trying to turn it on sometimes the doors lock and unlock repeatedly and the stereo turns off for the rest of the car ride. Has anyone else had this. What could the problem be? Could it be a sensor or wiring problems.
