Technically just having the cold air causes the problem. Coolant is dripping down on the exhaust manifold near the firewall on the drivers side. It seems to be from where the hose goes into the valve cover. I suspect what I think to be a heater hose or something that runs from the front of the block on passenger side around the engine to the driver side about 10" above the exhaust manifold. Or maybe it's something else I can't see... I tried looking at schematics and can't figure out exactly what I'm looking for.
Any help is most appreciated because it kind of looks like a bitch to replace and while I'm doing that, should I replace anything else?
TIA for your time.
No "coolant" hose goes into either valve cover, in picture that looks like the heated PCV valve, has 2 wires for the heater
Any fluid coming out of that connection would be oil, from oil vapor in the engine
If it is oil then time to change the PCV Valve for sure, suppose to be changed every 3 or 4 oil changes
Coolant hoses are at the front part of the engine bay with 2 hoses running to firewall for the heater in the cab
Thanks for responding! Yea, no water going into valve cover, lol. It was late and I was in a hurry but that was dumb on my part.
It didn't have an oil smell is why I suspected coolant. I'm going to do some more diagnostics to try to pin it down better. Sometimes just trying to explain problems helps get you in the right direction.
When AC is on, water(condensation) will drip out from firewall, but passenger side towards the center, it shouldn't drip on exhaust, drain's location/placement is planned that way but...................
Okay, after further diagnosis. it isn't happening any longer but the AC now blows hot air. So time to get the AC serviced and see if there's an issue there.
