Icon5 stock Air In-take mod?

saw on a older forum someone posted about a air intake mod you can do. didnt explain much was just breafly mensioned. person said k n cold air intake was a waste when you could do this mod. does anyone know what it is and how it is done. or just anything about it would be good. thanks.

yes a aftermaket cold air intake is a waste , you have cold air intake stock ,
and a K&N drop in is the way to go and you wont have to buy another unless you tare a hole in it or put your truck in a mud hole . and this is the air box mod

take your stock airbox and remove the little snorkel piece..it helps

or u can do like me and get another airbox from a junkyard and cut the whole front out and just swap your old box back when playing in the mud

may have been my thread you were reading. I cut the bottom of the box out than flipped it over. This has a fully exposed factory filter angled away from the engine. you keep thr factory clamping system to hold the air filter in place. It does nothing for power but sounds awesome.

also mines a 2wd sport so it does not really go off road.

Why you ask? Im a cheap skate do it your self kinda guy.
