Sucking Noise When Punching Throttle
Sucking Noise When Punching Throttle
I just finished replacing the injectors on my 01 4.0 SOHC and after putting everything together and firing it up, if you punch the throttle while standing in front of the truck there is a quick sucking noise, and the truck will seemingly miss while idling in drive or reverse. It seemed like it may have been missing while driving on the test drive but I couldn't really tell, and there's no CEL. If I rev it up slowly I don't hear it and I don't believe it did that before I did the job.
Before all this, I had a hard start after the truck sat overnight with gas in the oil, so I replaced the injectors, ECT sensor and sender, cleaned the IAC, replaced the PCV (the tab broke off so I RTV'd it to seal),and the MAF is clean. I did the old "spray all the hoses with brake parts cleaner" trick to see if there was a vacuum leak, but there doesn't seem to be. I also sprayed the base of the intake to see if there was an obvious leak as well as ensuring that all the intake bolts are tightened to spec. Is my IAC giving me trouble and I'm just hearing a normal noise from the intake? Or did I screw up the intake gaskets somehow? I'll post a video of what it sounds like.

An update, I drove it to work and it drove great, no hesitation and seemingly no misfires so now I'm even more confused. If the intake wasn't seated correctly shouldn't it run rough and stumble/throw a check engine light?
I guess what I'm specifically referring to is that loud suction noise that it makes when you hit the throttle hard, it doesn't do it when you throttle it up slowly. If that's a normal noise then I guess everything is ok, I've just never sat in front of it and ran the throttle up like that before.
