thrush turbo vs cherrybomb glasspacks?

this may belong under another thread so dont be shy in movin it if ya need

so i just recently bought my second ranger, an 03 4.0 SOHC and i'm seriously thinking exhaust right now
can anyone give me an idea of the sounds i would get from either a thrush turbo w the rear cat deleted and 2.5 pipe to the muffler then dumped or a cherrybomb glasspack, same setup?

any input would be the bomb
thanks fellas

I would guess that the glasspac is louder.

I left all 4 cats and went with no muffler split out the rear corners. Its not as loud as you would think around town but if you get on it she barks.

The Thrush turbos are not that loud at all. I ran one on my old Escort after the factory $125 muffler rotted out. There was some interior resonance at certain RPM's but not much louder than stock outside.

I run a Thrush turbo on my 2.5L, not really comparable to a V6 though. It's not loud at all, but then again I don't want it to sound ricey.

If you glasspack your V6 it will sound ricey for sure. But if you want to ruin a perfectly good 4.0 then go for it.

I have a 93 4.0 with no cats and dual pipes with glasspacks and its not that loud idling, but it barks when you stomp on it. But it does sound like a spitfire taking off when I merge on the highway.
I think they are 30'' long and 2" diameter.
I would imagine yours would have similar characteristics but alot milder.

I just put a cherry bomb glasspack on my sohc, I think it sounds pretty good now, but people are telling me it will get worse. Whatever, they are cheap.

Oh, yay, something I can comment on from experience.

I've used the Thrush turbo on many cars. I used one on my 2.3 Turbo Coupe with straight pipes, no cats.

It sounded mean, but was very quiet, turbo spool was very noticeable.

Used one on my Horizon, straight pipes, same thing, sounded mean but was quiet.

Put one on my buddies escort, sounds stock, just a little more aggressive.

Cherrybomb glasspacks, put a set on my dads 68 Chevy, 350, loud, mean and down right nasty. They complement his cam lope perfectly.

Glasspacks will eventually become hollow. Same as those ebay fart cans. They get loud as hell, but they're cheap.

Dual exits with two Thrush turbo's and no cats might actually sound good, I run Flowmasters behind my 5.0 and will never go back.
