i blew the head gasket on my ranger a month or so ago and have since replaced it, now my truck will not start. it will turn over, rev up to aprox. 3k and then die. a couple times it bounced between 500-2k for a few seconds and then died. i checked that im getting fuel, and all my plugs are getting sparks, my wires are also on the correct cylinder. so im lost and frustrated, any ideas and tips are much appreciated.

 

ended up taking the engine apart again, and bought a new gasket, lets hope it works this time

 

Did you ever find out the issue? I put new rocker arms in my truck and now the same thing is happening to me.

 

This issue ended up being a pinched vacum line when I put my alternator on. But double check every connection and make sure your fuel interia switch is reset.
