ooo it definately does have potential, but it is costly potential....since there isn't much aftermarket demand for the 4.0 and most parts are custom made, prices are high......now if it was a commonly modded engine like the 350 Chevy, then parts would be cheap for it...

i have seen a video (i can't remember were so dont ask! ) of a Ford 4.0 v6 that was built and had twin turbos on it.....if i remember correctly, it made something like 500 hp....

I have been trying to find it on the web. It's listed as the worlds fastest ranger, or something like that But I have not found it.

9 second ranger wouldnt be the fastest in the world, especially since we're talking the 4.0. Don Naase (Nase?) was running the turbo'd 2.3 at those times.

However, if this is a full street trim Ranger 4.0 then hats off to it.

very true!!! but the one thing that holds you back is the tranny! as it is, the motors make more power than what the tranny can truly handle! if a man did it the right way, you could scatter your tranny in your driveway...

Compatible for all 4.0L V6's OHV (pushrod engines only) from 1990-2001 Rangers, Explorers

this does most of us not much good.

this is the only place that i know of for the SOHC engines.

But it helps us with the older rangers that want to do something a little different than a 302 swap
