Exhaust and tuners are good, but will cost you a little bit. You can do the air box mod, the blinker mod and crank the T-bars(those will not cost you anything). Clear corner lights really change the look of your truck and they don't cost much.... the list goes on.

IMO a underdrive crank pulley is a very good bang for the buck. I measured a 12hp gain with the asp one. I think they are only $250 right now too. (+ the shorter belt)

At least the 3.0 has a few advantages over the 4.0, mainly cheaper underdrive pulleys

ditto Marc. My local 3.0 single cab buddy can beat my 4.0. granted i have extended cab weight and 33" tires. Keep it lean and mean and performance won't be dissappointing.

Check my cardomain site (link in sig). I have several low cost mods on there -- depending on what it is you're after. It's costs less than $10 to change the color of your gauges, for instance.

I actually have two vehicles with the 3.0. The black one is the vehicle you would be racing.

Yea, just bought the wife a 07 Fusion with the 3.0 but it doesn't look anything like the one in the Ranger & it has a few extra ponies as well. I'm looking forward to adding an intake, exhaust & programmer to it. The guys on the fusion forums are stating that with those 3 mods they are pulling about 50 more ponies.

well it was a joke and if you want to get technical the rx-7 does not even come close to having the same engine. the mazda 6 is the fastest car I have ever owned, which is why my wife drives it. i would like to mod it too, however, it is still under warranty. tested in the most unscientific way ever (friend with stopwatch and me telling him when we got to 60) it achieved 7 sec 0-60 time. not super fast but its really fun to drive.

Yea, its the same engine in the Fusion I believe & they are rated @ 7 sec. 0-60, pretty darn peppy for a 3.0.

Nope. LED's don't work that well on the gauges, as a rule. It's with glass paint. Look at the site and it will explain itself...there are LED mods there too for the switches. Very cheap also.
