02 sensors

This question is for Ron D, I was looking at a thread for a guy putting a explorer 5.0 in his ranger that had a 3.0 in it and he had a bunch of codes. his 5.0 wouldn't start by key but he got it to run by jumping something. anyway I noticed you were telling him about hooking up his 02 sensors because he was having issues with fuel not being delivered correctly, 15% less on one bank, 30% more on other..you told him his 02s might be crossed. you said there is no left or right but gave him color code for each side on one wire. I'm going to look at my wires because I'm not sure mine are correct?

The O2 sensors are interchangeable they use the same connectors so there is no left or right, BUT......................
There is a left and right for the computer on V6 or V8 engines, bank 1 and bank 2
And there is only 1 wire that is different on each
And on most wiring harness' either connector will reach either side, and since the connectors are the same............oops

Computer sees bank 1 is lean so adds more fuel, but bank 1 O2 isn't responding, so it adds more fuel and then more fuel, then sets a code.
Computer can't make the connection that Bank 2 O2 sensor was showing Richer and Richer as it increased fuel on Bank 1.
As said before naming an engine fuel calculator a "computer" is being generous, it is a calculator plain and simple

I have Red/white wire for Bank 1(passenger side)
And Yellow/Blue wire for Bank 2(drivers side)

But my diagram only list O2s as 1, 2, 3, and 4(dual exhaust), it isn't bank specific

Ok, I understand the wire for each side...I think the way I put the harness to top of trans I might have it in wrong place and kind of flipped and maybe computer is looking at pass 02 but getting driver because maybe I have wires crossed? I have red/back wire on say driver side and ur thread said pass side. I could try to flip harness and see if it makes a difference. if I do have it backwards wouldn't be first time I got something *** backward..lol on ur theory about not being able to find keys...my favorite saying is if I cant find something, its probable right in front of me...

02 issue

So I disconnected the driver front...bank 2 02 1, sensor...started truck and looked at scanner and had no voltage from bank 2, 02 1 sensor. So I have them right. Not sure wat was causing the hesitation but she is running pretty darn good last few days.
