i was going to take it too the track but the motor had a nock. i pulled the motor and it looks like part of the piston broke off. it marked the head up alittle.

sweet little track ranger. looks like you are getting all the kinks worked out, sucks about the piston though. I want to get building mine up real bad

Use ARP rocker studs...put a little dab of blue loctite on the lower threads...the arp studs are nicely spot faced at the top which helps the set screws stay put instead of backing off

ordered a 347 from chp they said 4-6 weeks. the truck had single exhaust and im going to dual 3 inch. it should be back running in a few months

Ditto on the afr's, out of the box.. Nothing better ! Just make sure everything works together ! All your components need to match ! Good luck with the build, great start !

i checked the piston to valve clearance and it worked. i installed the head with out head gasket and and rolled the motor. my head gaskets are .039 so i know i have .039 clearance

83 with 302 .30 over 10:1 pistions 3/4 cam, demon carb, electric fuel pump, electric cooling fan and trans cooler 3" exhaxt stainless headers 3:73 rear shift kit, ,b&m shifter withthe right rear tires 12.6 its in the classifieds nfor sale v8 ranger

we made a easy pass to just make sure every thing was good. did not run it all the way out and ran a 13.32@94.90. going back friday to make a full pass.

Not bad. A buddy of mine downloaded a 1/4 mile app for his phone. My ranger pulled 20 sec 1/4 mile lol.

lol well it was a 3.0 with 33's and 3.73 gears, so probably even slower than a 2.3.

went back and made a full pass it stopped pulling in 3rd gear. it did a 13.03@97.95. the mph should be around 110 mph. got a few things i need to do so going to be down for a few.

got the new cell in. still have a few things to do tranny is in the shop they said a few weeks.
