Welcome to the forum

Depends on what you want as end result really, is this to be a daily driver or just a fun driver when the mood strikes you?

Do you want a fuel injected 5.0l engine and automatic trans with computer?
Or a carbureted 5.0l with automatic and no computer

Or a manual trans?

The fuel injection with computer requires more wiring of course, and more expense for parts

Then you will want to buy a rusted out or dented up 1996-2001 V8 Explorer as a donor, it will have most of the parts you will need, 2wd if thats what you need
These only came with automatics

Manual trans conversion can be done, but I would decide that first, because there can be another approach because of the computer needed for manual trans EFI
