I have a 5.0 mustang engine i am considering putting in my 1998 ranger. I know i'll have to get ahold of a wiring harness and computer. i'm not worried about that. and i will be putting the gt 40 heads and intake on it just cuz the mustangs stock ones suck and explorer parts are dirt cheap. The problem is i want to have a 5.0 with a 5 speed in it and not be AWD like the explorers. So what transmission is there that can be used? Why can't my t5 out of my mustang bolt up to it. Could i use an F 150 transfer case or something. advance adapters make an adapter for a full size f150 5 speed to bolt to the ranger transfer case. has anyone done that before?
