I am looking to swap a 5.0 in to my 4.0 2000 Ranger. I think I am going to swap it from a 5.0 Explorer, is the K member the same? What else will I need in this swap. Has anyone done this before and is their any guides online?? Thanks

 

Search? Theres at least two build threads on this forum regarding a 5.0L swaps into 98+ rangers. There's really really good threads over at RPS.

even in this V8 section there are multiple posts about it. Best bet would be to get a explorer 5.0L donor truck. But if not, you'll need the motor, trany, wiring harness and computer. radiator, fan, throttle cable etc. from the 5.0 truck.
