I know it has been forever since I have posted in this thread about the swap. Well not much has happened thats why. I just got word late last week that the donor motor was junk on the inside even though it seemed good. It would have needed all new internals (Crank, Pistons, Rods, Etc.....) The final damage would have been around 1600. I don't have that kind of cash at this time so I went in search of a new donor. I have found one which Jeffro and i will be going to pick up on Sunday 8-6-06. Hopefully this one will be a little better or atleast be able to make one good one out of my two junk ones. We will see anyboyd in the area of Seward, PA maybe we could meet up for lunch or something on sunday thast where we will be headed for.
EDIT: anybody notice the motor shop 2 weeks was 2 1/2 months. Glad I wasn't in a hurry.

There has been a long gap on this thread. For one reason I have been working many hours and getting my house ready for my new son. (Due Any Day Now).
Well now for the update. The second motor was decent but fell over at the shop while on the stand and got pretty busted up. So we made a phone call to the local junk yard and found another motor. I figure third time is a charm. The good part about it is now I can take my time and build the other 302 up at a later date a little at a time. I have two of everything for the motor and I can completely build up the other 302 far down the road. For now I just have to find the time to put the 3rd motor in the truck.

Stopped into the shop to check on the progress of my motor yesterday. I was standing in the shop and noticed where i knew my motor was sitting there was now a bright green motor on the stand. I go over to look at it and realize that it is my motor and has been regasketed and resealed and REPAINTED. I told them that it looked awesome and they told me that I was lucky they couldn't find PINK High Temp Engine paint otherwise it was going to be a nice shade of pink. With friends like that who needs enemies. Oh well it is starting to come along. I have a couple other things I need to get to get it started.
Maybe tomorrow I can stop at the shop and take a couple of pics of the GRABBER GREEN motor with the Chrome Edelbrock Valve Covers.

You guys just wait. For you guys that have seen my piece of junk you won't believe it is the same truck when I get done with it. It is going to be a nice trail rig when I get done. It's not going to be lifted any (for now) but it will look 1000x's better than it did and sound the part too.
