Ok so I'm looking for insight on putting a 4.6 in a 99 3.0 4x4. Like what parts am I going to need to buy? Any help is appreciated.

 

A bigger engine bay, it won't fit between heater box and steering shaft

302/5.0l OHV V8 barely fits and its only 19" wide

4.6l SOHC is 26" wide, DOHC is 30" wide

Only reason the 4.0l SOHC engines fit in Rangers was because they are 60deg V engines, V8's are 90deg

Also a height issue
the 5.0l OHV was only 21" tall, 4.6l is 26" to 30" tall
