quick question 5.0 in 2003 ranger in pa

I was looking at putting a 5.0 in my ranger but cannot find out if i am able to do it. I live in westmoreland county in pa. any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

From what I have read and heard yes it can be done.
Best Ex to start with would be an ’01, with a V-8 of course.

Emissions testing your concern? that could be an issue. otherwise, there are some tricks, but an explorer swap will work for you.

I do PA state inspections and emissions testing, if thats where your concerns are, Pa says your engine must be same year or newer,( but who really knows as long as it's close) biggest part is it must have all the same emission componets as your truck did from the factory, and after install the ECM needs flashed to make the VIN# match the truck. if the ECU and dash plate VIN# dont match on an OBD2 system it will fail. The the safety inspection are the same as they always were, brakes, tires, suspention, steering, ect.
