Awesome. Do you plan on running a role pan or a normal bumper?

Negative on the normal bumper!

Either a rollpan or some homemade nerf bars, just to keep Johnny Law happy!

Icon10 UPDATE 3 28 10 / CHANGE in plans:

My Son has taken over the black 94 in the pics, it will be gettin a 16.5 to 1 compression, 58cc chambered aluminum headed, 355......est. 500HP.

The RAT Ranger has been switched to a 99 I picked up reasonable>>>

Day I brought it home:

After a couple weeks of scroungin:

Size: 122.0 KB

Picked up a disc braked 8.8 out of a 00 Explorer, and my plans are to put two right side axles in it to narrow it 3" :

Size: 88.9 KB

The 99 will be gettin the black steppy, as my Son wants a std. box.

Before the rear suspension mod:

After rear suspension mod (no I haven't put the Explorer 8.8 in it yet, hence the shocks not hooked up and how high the azz is sittin, along with I haven't removed the rear shackle mounts yet):

Size: 134.6 KB

BTW: Those SWEET mounts where made by a member over on TRS known as IRON RANGER!

I've been workin on gettin my green 94 ready for this summers Cruise-In's and Meets, as I pulled the motor and worked it over a tad.....

Anybody interested in a red steppy cheap? Not cherry but only $200.....

16.5:1? lol seems a little excessive. you might be able to get away with it if it were a diesel. lol. what do you plan on running for fuel because it's going to be completely unstreetable. i would probably rock a corn fed 13:1 motor or something like that...at least you'd still be able to drive the thing

I've got my green 94, a black 94 that my Son wants for his 2nd V8 Ranger(motor is sittin on my engine stand), a 95 with salvage title, and my 99 rainbow Ranger that the BB is on the engine stand waitin to find it's home.

And SORRY, but I didn't give my kids any vehicles, they bought their own....the benefit of a mechanically inclinded Dad is the only given they get!

I think it needs to be lower to be a real rat. Much much much lower. And no fenders. Ever thought about taking the bedsides off the steppie bed and just running the inside tub? I think that would fit the bill for a rat rod look.

See? Like that! Oh yeah. So I guess no hood, fenders, just a modified grill and bumper. I think that would be cool. Just my two cents. Would better be able to tell it apart from just a drag Ranger with a v-8.

If you read from the OP, you would see that the ONLY RAT in this Rangers future is 396+ cubes!

Nothin against RR's, but I'm not gonna destroy a perfectly solid bodied Ranger to make it a RR.......SORRY!
