So Theoretically?
So Theoretically?
Lets say I were to get the following from an Exlporer:
98, 99 ish Exp 5.0
Harness
pcm
tranny
gem
Steering column with tumbler and KEY or keys (screw pats)
headers
driveshaft
would this basically be the closest "plug n play"??
Just an idea ive been throwin around in my head, figured i'd get it out.

FYI - all explorer V8 had PATS. You need full system to convert over if you don't want to re-flash with an NGS. You need PCM, PATS module, and Keys.
Also - why wouldn't you want PATS? It is a very good system that all but eliminates people from stealing your truck unless they tow it...

Have you read up on the 98'+ header options? Engine mounts? Radiator?
Plug and Play yes . . . to a certain extent, I've never done a 98'+ Ranger 5.0 swap (two pre 98's) but from what I know, it's no walk in the park like your post makes it seem.

Can PATS be completely removed from the computer??? The reasonm I ask is because my 96 Ranger with the 96 Explorer Engine, Trans, Wiring, computer, ect doesn't have PATS... Are you sure that ALL 5.0 explorers had the anti theft?
