2004 stock radio in a '96?

I want to put the stock stereo from my '04 into my '96. The connectors are different. Does such a harness exist? Or will i have to fabricate something? I don't want to cut the wires in the dash.

It can be done without destroying your dash harness. I put an 03 radio in a 95 explorer before and its easy to do. You will need to cut the radio harness out of a 98 or newer ford and get a wiring kit from any car stereo shop or wal-mart for your 96. Splice the two harnesses together one end will plug into your new radio and the other will plug into your dash harness. The kit will explain which wires are for the adapter and you can find the other wire colors on these forums or I use installdr dot com. If you have any problems pm me and I can walk you through it.

Yeah I knew I could do that, but I didn't think about using another truck. Maybe I can find one in a junkyard or something. I just didn't want to cut the stock harness off of either of my trucks.

I went to the you pull junk yard and got the radio pigtail. I hate cutting into my stock harness also, I avoid it every way I can.
