Wicked truck... stupid idea to stand in the wheel well

rangerman16 10-31-2011 08:30 AM

thats just ridiculous but 3 15s would be pushin it youtr back cab youd have to sit all the way forward and who wants to do that? unless you know a awesome box maker then id go for it but 4 12s would fit and would hit as hard as 3 15s if toned right i had 3 12s in the back of my ranger and they hit 10x times harder then the 2 15s in my cherokee

RangOH 10-31-2011 06:36 PM

"meh my dual 12s make my bolts come out anyways im not going to go bigger i used to want too but mehh way waste more money." Agreed

if you can't get it done with two 12's your probably doing something wrong.. i wouldn't spend any more money till you figure out what it is..

"and the point was to go as bigg as he could. he has the smallest pecker" -fixed

im amazing at custom boxes. the box for the 3 15s would have to be built and assembled inside my truck.... it wouldnt be a slide in box.

and the 4 12s is what im going to do. becuase i already have 2. just need the other 2 old school kicker cvrs 12s i cant find them anywhere!!!!!

the reason behind going for the 4 12s is..... they will push more air then the 3 15s.... with alot less power.... the 3 15s would push a totall area of 141.37 inches.... the 4 12s will be push a totall area of 150.79 inches... that makes a BIG difference.

someone one here said im doing something wrong if my 2 12s arent hitting hard......
news flash: my 2 12s stop my friends from breathing listening to colt ford. the idea for 3 15s came along when i saw alot of people starting to put 2 12s in the thier trucks.... and i like to be a step a head and come up with cool deisgns and do things many people find too diffult... sad part is i dont got a lot of money. but i can built a small box with just the right amount of air for the 4 12s and have them hit hard enough to cause a heart attack.
plus, the 4 12s will be divided into 2 different boxes with 2 different amps and different switches. i cant choose to play all 4 subs or only 2 of them. they'll be tuned the same so i will have a good clean hard hitting bass... got the plans already and building of the box will start on the 6 of November.

PROBLEM!!!!!!

billygoat1 10-31-2011 10:05 PM

I NEED THE OTHER 2 OLD SCHOOL KICKER CVR'S !!!!!!!!!! THEY NEED TO BE 12 INCHES!!!!!!!!!
IF YOU KNOW ANYONE HAVE THEM ALL ME!!!!!!!

a box for 3 15s wouldnt have to be built in the truck, im a box designer, i know what im doing i was going to do 3 15s in my truck but i didnt want to give up that much leg room. good luck with the build.

also if u cant to get really loud, look at DC audio :) my friend has a DC 18 that he is selling, he isnt far from u, he only wants like 300, would be nice in ur truck if u want to do that :)

billygoat1 11-01-2011 10:23 AM

i dont like the sound of the 18s.... ive heard them and they dont seem as clear as the 15s. i like the 12s and the 15s cuz they hit hard and they are clear. not just all bass....

i listen to alot of country so i want them to be clear not just all bass without tone..... you know what i mean? and the box for the 3 15s would have to be built in the truck if i dont want to give up my leg room.... im a short guy i stand about 5' 8" so my seat is already closer to the steering wheel then most...

the Answer 11-01-2011 11:03 AM

he listened to alot of rap and scremo and he loved the sound of them, they sound really good and clean and get really loud, but thats cause they are DC

billygoat1 11-01-2011 03:11 PM

ive noticed that when you listen to rap you have to tune things differently for country. and 18s wont play the bass as 15s and 12s will
sometimes 15s cant play it right. but the bass notes in country are REALLY close to that of 12s and 10s

Dang three 15's? Seems a little over kill IMO. :D

Why not get some . :D

An old friend of mine ran 2 12" in a custom box. They sounded great for metal music. I think they were some knock offs.

O3RANGEREDGE 11-03-2011 12:26 AM

hey is this truck with a club called LOWERED ATMOSPHERE?

hurley 11-03-2011 05:25 AM

Doesn't a square speaker have more surface area than a round one? So wouldn't it put out more sound?

nickskates4lyfe 11-03-2011 08:37 AM

I have 4 12's, so that means I'm ahead of the game I guess.

@Josh what kind of DC is it? My ultimate goal one day is to do an 18 and get some room back in the truck. I got 1krms to play with.

its a DC lvl 4 with lvl 5 coils, it can take a clean 1500 daily

rangerboy101 11-03-2011 12:10 PM

I'd throw 2k+ at a LVL 4 with LVL 5 soft parts.

for short demos, it would be fine on 2k, any more than that and i would just go with a XL

nickskates4lyfe 11-03-2011 12:34 PM

Yeah, so it would like the 1k and I'd have room to play with it.

Damn, if I wasn't trying to buy a welder. I was looking at an FI, well I should say been drooling over a 18 BTL for a while now...

4dangerXranger4 12-22-2011 06:12 PM

Mtx all the way! I have 2 mtx 12s firing up, and they beat pretty hard. I'm building a downtime box now.

what did your setup consist of?

ranger024x4 12-23-2011 06:43 PM

i acutally have had 3 different mtx setups. It was along time ago when I had the 9500 but i gave everything to spec and was not all that impressed with it.

the best entry level subwoofer that you can go out and buy easily is the alpine type r (imo). I had 2 of them in a 4cube box at 34hz. gave them 1500rms for the pair, and they took the abuse very well.

as you shouldnt. power wise they take it, musicality is there, they dig down nice and low BUT enclosure recommendations from MTX themselves would be fail. i can make a $30 pyle sound good in the proper enclosure.
