3 15" subs in my ranger

okay so right now i have 2 12" old school kicker CVR they are loud!!! but i want to go bigger.
so i was thinking about building a new sub box for 3 15" kickers. ill be running 3 of the same mono amps.
what do yall think?

rangerboy101 07-20-2011 10:05 AM

Go for it.

the Answer 07-20-2011 10:11 AM

u will need a big box

IMO dont run kicker but 3 15s would be sick

01RangerEdge 07-20-2011 10:16 AM

Don't get Kicker.

But I like the idea of 3 15s

rangerboy101 07-20-2011 10:21 AM

If I were you, I'd go with some Sony Xpld's. I loved mine. I powered mine with a boss 2,000w amp and a 2 Farad capacitor. Slammed soooo hard

as loud as the SA-15s? lol

rangerboy101 07-20-2011 11:40 AM

I bet they were a bit louder than the sa-15's. The odd shape of the Sony's helps them move more air which makes them louder.

my friend suan has 6 15" kicker CVRs and they sound beond amazing!
ive done some research on his and i like them.
plus i dont like the way the sonys look. and i dont trust sony products. im running all kenwood except my subs. and my old school kickers are lasting forever and ive put them through abuse so i know kicker makes so really good subs. my hardest choice to make is weather i want square or round..... no one i know has square. does anyone know why?

RANGER_620 07-20-2011 10:44 PM

Whats your friend drive!? 6 15's damn...Whats the point in that lol

I think you missed the sarcasm in his post. Sony sucks, he knows that

You should see the stuff some of these guys here are running, blows kicker out of the water

Why does no one have square subs? Because they look retarded

the Answer 07-21-2011 12:14 PM

kicker is not known for sq, they do get loud but sound like crap.

look at DC lvl 3, sundown SA-15, SSA icon. u will be very very happy with any of these.

with 3 15s u will need to wall, i can do a design if u want me too, iv thought about do 3 15" DC XLs walled on 7k but box is really big, u will need 9ft^3 net.

the Answer 07-21-2011 07:05 PM

what amp do u have?

because l5's and l7's are expensive. everybody has cvr's and cvx's because they're cheap and every store sells them.

i think kicker is a good brand for as mainstream as they are . i've run their high end components and zx amplifiers and was (is) very satisfied... only negative to their amps is how much heat they produce. and i've seen and heard what the L series subs can do... i'd pass up the cvr's and cvx's... they're less than impressive.

say what you want about sound quality but if you want 3 15's chances are you care more about loud, undistorted bass rather than proportionate tonality throughout the sound spectrum...

the Answer 07-21-2011 08:23 PM

i have been impressed by only one kicker system and thats my bosses old blazer with 12 12" cvrs, and he wont run kicker anymore

hitmanmatt 07-28-2011 08:29 PM

dude go and get some mtx thunder 9500 there so loud

edge2k 07-28-2011 10:32 PM

Let's not forget that awkwardly shaped square woofers have weird pressure points in the surround unlike a comparable round woofer, and a square is just naturally harder for the cone to stay linear, and nyancat just frowns upon that.

Riddla 08-19-2011 12:02 AM

So far I've been happy with one 15 L7, no complaints other than I need to feed it more power

Kysus 08-19-2011 12:07 AM

meh my dual 12s make my bolts come out anyways im not going to go bigger i used to want too but mehh way waste more money.

but it would be cool ;)

he drives a chevy 1500 ill post a picture of his truck and the interior..... and the point was to go as bigg as he could. he has tons of money... and he's ripped the whole system out and is putting in 6 18inch kickers back there. heres the pictures.....

so i did some more research on the 15s and i can buy 3 of his old 15s for 350.... good deal???? and i was thinking about instead of the 3 15s i might run 4 12s. i already got 2. all ill need is 2 more and anouther amp.....

edge2k 10-25-2011 11:21 AM

One would think with that much money to splurge he would have done something a little nicer with the lights under the bumper, and maybe covered the box with something?. I'm pretty sure I've seen this truck before though, maybe around Orlando/Altamonte? The decal is something I would remember.

rangerrunner11 10-25-2011 11:33 AM
