im gonna try to sell my JL speakers to my boss for his truck if he doesnt use the ones i pulled out of a truck he bought a while back. or try to get him to put my JLs in the f550... but what 5x7 or 5.25 components are out there? with the 5.25 componets i would like to get a plate already made that holds the woofer and the tweeter seperately already so i dont have to pay someone to make one since all my tools to make em are at my parents house in houston..

i really would like a soft tweeter instead of an aluminum or titanium dome tweeter.. those are just toooo harsh for my ears when i crank it

Ford speaker adapter 5x7 6x8

Haven't tried them yet myself, but I'd put my tweeter up higher on the door.

 

JL makes 5.7 component systems. My Boston Pro60s came with an adapter plate to fit in a 5x7 hole. Look around and see what you can find.

 

I have the INFINITY REFERENCE 6810cs 6X8/5X7 components in my Ranger, surprised me how good they sound. I picked them up cheap on E-Bay @ $86 a set.

i used them plates off ebay for my rear speakers, the speakers i have in my truck i had in my probe gt and havnt got new ones becuase they sound ok.

 

well i just found over 2k dollars worth of stereo mounting brackets and adapter plates at work in his VW van that is just covered in cob webs so im gonna clean it out and try to find some adapter plates and possibly get a set of focals and just run the fronts and a single 10 off the eclipse amp i have, just depends if we get a audio sponsorship for the f550, im sure i can talk to the rep for whatever speakers and get them for a cheaper price whatever brand we go with
