8" Subs

I was looking to get a pair of 8" subs for my truck. I have a older style JBL amp thats 600W. Thats all i know about it without going home and looking at it some more. What kinda subs could i get that the amp wont hurt the speakers? Also currently running 2 6 1/2 polks, 2 6X9 polks and 1 3 1/2 pioneer. Reason why i want 8's is cause i just want some bass not overpowering to where i can hear the lyrics and ****.

Heres some specs on the amp. Its a JBL BP600.1

Power Handling (JBL does not specify peak power capabilities of this amplifier):
600W RMS x 1 @ 2 Ohms
300W RMS x 1 @ 4 ohms
1 Ohm Stable (Can Push Four 4 Ohm subs wired in parallel)
Frequency Response: 10-320 Hz
Variable Low-Pass Electronic Crossover: 32-320 Hz, 12 dB/octave slope (non-defeatable)
Variable Bass Boost (Up to 6dB @ 50Hz)
"Common-Sense" feature automatically turns on amp when it senses signal through the speaker-level inputs
"Universal Interface" includes four preamp and four speaker-level inputs for convenient hook-up with a variety of head units
S/N Ratio: 90 dB
12-9/16"L x 9-1/16"W x 2-11/16"H

I am by no means an audio guru. So any advice would help.

I just bought a pair of these to install in my truck. Haven't got around to building enclosures for them yet though. They should pair up just fine with your amp at 300 watt rms a piece as long as you run them at 2 ohms. But they are def built to quality, weighing in at 10lbs a piece.

I've got a single Lanzar MaxP8 in a 0.25 cu ft box under one of the rear jump seats running on only 140W, and it does quite well. They will handle up to 800W each, so your amp should be fine to run a pair. For the quality of these speakers, they're a great deal IMO. IIRC, I got mine for $40 shipped. I chose them for their ability to sound good in a smaller box.

I built a box for two RE Audio REX8D4's. I have factory buckets in my truck and the box sits snugly between the rear speakers side to side, from the rear of the cab to the center console and it sits under the lip on the rear of the cab.

I want to say its like 7.75" bottom and 4.5" top. The magnet clears by less than .25"
