Adapter plate nessesary?
Hey guys, I recently got a pair of Infinity 6.5" speakers (652i's) and have them mounted in the stock 6x8" holes in my doors without an adapter plate or anything. Would making a "filler" plate or anything to cover the upper and lower gaps help in sound or bass or not make a difference? Thanks guys

yeah it'll help out somewhat.
ideally.. your speaker should be placed on an infinate baffle... where there is no holes or anything like that in the baffle (basically sealed)... realistically though, our doors are filled with tons of holes... so unless you do a little work and seal your doors (or at least seal the speakers in the doors), it can always be better than it's current state.
but to answer your question... yeah, i'd recommend making an adapter plate for them, to cover the gaps around the speakers edge. it'll help out somewhat.
